Did you notice the prevalence of Irish names among the dead firefighters of 9/11? Now, they were heroes. But there is zero chance that hiring was being done in an ethnicity-blind manner.
There were also many Italian Americans. And there were French, Scottish, German, African American and Jewish firefighters among the victims on 9/11 too, none of whom would appreciate your ill-informed comment. For generations, certain ethnic groups gravitated to the civil service (the "No Irish Need Apply" signs effectively excluded the Irish from private sector jobs). And fire service tends to run in families, whatever their ethnicity. Yet what has all this to do with New Haven's PROMOTIONAL exams for Captain and Lieutenant? Or that city's refusal to fill vacancies in the officer ranks because the successful candidates were "too white"?
Fortunately, the Supreme Court of the U.S.A. corrected the wise Latina's egregious and racially discriminatory blunder. As Prof. Laurence Tribe tried in vain to warn his former student Pres. Barack Hussein Obama II before he afflicted the Supreme Court with the wise Latina, she is not as smart as she seems to think she is.

Did you go count the number of Irish-Americans relative to the population? It’s a traditional profession and was notorious for ethnic-based hiring.
People like you only have a fit when certain people are getting Affirmative Action.
Totally irrelevant to the facts of the Supreme Court case that Whelan is writing about. DUH...
Not really, when you consider earlier court cases that found discrimination in the FDNY—just, it was in the direction you prefer.
See United States of America and Vulcan Society, Inc. v. City of New York
What I prefer is not to have the dumbest people being hired in emergency services positions, or to deal with them on substack. Bye.
Funny how this didn't worry you when hiring was tilted towards White people. Well, not ha-ha funny.
